Our Story
As a family, we have always had a love for the countryside and country pursuits. I (Vicky) grew up horse riding and lived at the stable yard every second I could. I left school and studied horse care at agricultural college. My dad had a love for horses and rode as a child so he got me into it. My dad also always shot and fished along with my brother. We always had game on the Sunday dinner table as a child.
My husband (Ben) originally was a keen fisherman and did match fishing. Through his fishing friends he got into shooting game and clays. His grandfather shot clays and we still have his 100 straight trophy on the shelf at home. Ben left school and had a game-keeper job and attended agricultural college to be a gamekeeper but unfortunately could not afford to run his car on the wages. So eventually he was forced to take a career in something else. He still shot on shoots, went beating, and worked his dogs on local shoots. From this, he started training dogs for working tests and field trials. We had quite a few dogs in the kennels and I loved to help out. We also bred the successful ones, and sometimes kept a pup to bring on.
Once our children came along this all stopped. Mainly because our son Henry was introduced to shooting at the age of 9. He has such a good eye for it and loves it with a passion. So my husband’s working dog years came to an end to support Henry’s hobby. Henry is now 19 and has shot for the England skeet team and made the 2024 FITASC team GB in America. He loves everything to do with shooting and is continuing his journey in clay shooting.
My daughter Izzy is the performer of the family she is currently at performing college but has always loved the countryside and dogs. She has recently decided to take up a bit of horse riding as a hobby alongside her career and having a go at shooting. She like the rest of the family enjoys nothing more than being in the countryside as a release from her performing career.
Our little man is obsessed with dogs and long walks and spends a lot of time outside.
We have three other members of the family which you will always see featured, that’s Ruby and Skye our two cocker spaniels and the latest addition little Bertie the mini dachshund.
As you can see, we are a family very much with a huge love for the countryside and that’s why the idea of Kingshall Country came about. It’s a family business, we have all had an input into the designs and set-up of the company.
We really hope you love our selection of country clothing that will be added to throughout the seasons.
From the Kingshall Country team,
Vicky, Ben, Henry, Izzy and our little man.
